Summer into Fall

If you're from Texas, you know the value of being able to wear Summer clothes into the Fall. And the early winter, since we don't get cold weather until late November, most of the time.

You want to wear shorts? Do it! Pairing your favorite shorts with a solid tank, matching flannel, and ankle boots is a great way to warn off early fall chill and still look cute and stylish if the temperatures get too hot.

In this photo:
Flannel: St. John's Bay men's from JC Penney -$15 on sale, not sure how much regular price
(I buy men's because they're roomier than women's, leaving plenty of sleeve to wrap around my waist and just being super cozy you're wearing it)

Shorts: Vanilla Star from JC Penney -$20 on sale, $36 regular
Shirt:  Rue 21 -They go on sale for $5-10)
Boots: Walmart- $15.

So for the entire outfit, I only paid about $55.

If shorts aren't your thing, or flannel, or solid tees, another great Summer to Fall look is a dress in neutral colors, also worn with ankle boots. The best part about this outfit? You can add a cardigan, a jacket, or leggings (or any combination of the three) as the weather gets colder. You could also add taller boots instead of ankle boots, which I chose to wear with mine.

Dress: Charlotte Russe, $15 on clearance, $22ish regular

Boots: Charlotte Russe, $25 during Happy Hour, $45 regular

                                                                                    Outfit cost: $40

You don't have to spend a lot of money to dress the way you want. Shop the sales! Sign up for Charlotte Russe Happy Hour texts for coupons and to know when the best time to shop is. You can also shop outside of the season. I buy most of my summer clothes in the winter, when stores are making room for new stock, and vice versa for my winter clothes.

The most important thing about fashion is to be comfortable. Don't worry about what other people think. If you like it, wear it! Flaunt it. Be unique. Play around with layers and styles. Somedays I'm a Bohemian Princess, others a grunge rock star. It's fun to try new things, and that's what I plan to do with this blog.

Thanks for reading! I'll be back soon with more Texas styles.
